Wedding photography at Old Thorns Manor Hotel, Liphook Hampshire by Chris Such Images – Darren & Helen

Darren and Helen chose the fabulous Old Thorns Manor Hotel to hold their intimate wedding celebrations and us (obviously) to capture part of the story.  I’m usually penning these blogs of ours after a hectic 12-14hr wedding day, but today I seem to be minus the usual aches/pains/tiredness but that is down to yesterday being a half day instead of our looooong all day option.  Felt bizarre leaving Old Thorns in the warmth of sunshine, but secretly felt quite nice, like being given the afternoon off by an awesome boss I guess?

Anyway, Darren and Helen had booked the usual motley crew of us for the photography, Annette for her hair and makeup, Micah for their flower arrangements and Jayne for their wedding cupcakes so they were in great hands for the day as we all know our stuff being the fantastic professionals that we are!  So I rocked up mid-morning, the same time as the rest of them as it turned out, and Annette set about creating awesome hair, whilst I grabbed my gear and flexed the creative muscle into life, Micah was busy throwing flowers around (to great effect I must add) and Jayne was arranging beautiful individual cakes.  I was under instruction to not take pictures of crazy mid-design hair, which I obviously ignored, and captured some wonderful moments!  I did manage to sneak off and grab some shots of a nervous Darren and the boys in the heat of a lovely day before heading back to the girls for some finishing touches.

They held their wedding ceremony in The Champagne Bar, a few groups were shot on the terrace and then Natalie, Stu, me and the freshly married couple ran away to the other side of the golf course for some relaxed couple portraits.  Darren and Helen are like me- they don’t have a great love of being photographed, so relaxed and natural was the name of the game.  Some great shots nailed and then we headed back to release them to their guests in the Kenwood Suite for speeches and Wedding Breakfast.  I hear the evening went fantastically and it was great to be a part of their special day.  Thanks to Darren and Helen for choosing us, cheers to the motley crew, and thanks to Old Thorns (especially Natalie and Stuart) for the usual help…  🙂

Wedding photography at Old Thorns Manor Hotel, Liphook Hampshire by Chris Such Images – Garry & Rebecca Carter

Wow!  Garry & Rebecca held their wedding at the amazing Old Thorns Manor Hotel and boy what a warm day!  Not that I’m complaining about having to shoot in lovely sunny conditions, or the fantastic sunset shots we got, or the relaxed guests, or the great food, no complaints from me.  I’d previously shot Rebecca’s daughters wedding (although Rebecca and Garry commissioned us first) a couple of months ago, so rocking up to this was brilliant as I knew most of the family already from spending all day with them recently.  So then… I turned up early to shoot the bridal preps as I always do and the girls (and Mums) were all in great spirits and the hair/makeup duo Kerrie & Holly from Baytree Beauty were setting everything up for a busy morning whilst Micah from Mrs Bouquet was busy dressing the Hampshire Suite with flowers.  Everything was looking fantastic, the Champagne was flowing, the natural light was illuminating the room for me and the time just flew by!  I did find 10 minutes to go and shoot Garry and his Best Man son Andy before rushing back to carry on with the girls before rushing back to catch Garry et al in the Sports Bar before rushing back to catch the girls putting the finishing touches before rushing back to the Hampshire Suite to catch Garry pre-bride’s entrance…busy life being a photographer at weddings!  Ceremony, welcome drinks on the terrace and then Justina and I dragged the happy couple around the stunning golf course for some of my relaxed stuff.  Back in time for a lovely Wedding Breakfast and then the speeches.  The speeches…Andy ripped into Garry hilariously, Rebecca just had to stand up to say a few words, Rebecca’s Mum also and Garry just stood up and pulled funny faces.  By that time the sun was setting so I dragged them back outside for some great sunset shots before I let them go and I just concentrated on the dancing for the rest of the evening, photographing some rather drunken guests!!  Enjoy their Wedding Gallery and here’s a few teasers.  Thanks everyone, was a fabulous day 🙂 x
